4. Setparam
Mush like OREMO, Setparam is a program that isn't technically necessary - but extremely recommended. Setparam allows you to create and edit otos outside of the UTAU program, and it has many useful features such as a detailed audio spectrum, pitch guide, and just generally being much, much faster. Otoing sucks, so why not get it over with as soon as possible?
Installation and Set Up
PLEASE NOTE: Although it is not necessary to oto in setparam, every following tutorial will assume you are using it with this specific set up.
This will mostly be a rehash of CZ's setparam tutorial, but I'll do my best to stay in-depth.
First things first, download the program from here. Make sure to get the English version. Extract the .zip file somewhere on your computer (doesn't matter where) and open Setparam.exe. You may want to make a desktop shortcut for the program so you can find it easier. Navigate to an oto (any oto really, doesn't matter for now) and load it.
Then go back to Mouse and Key Settings and make sure both "When left blank is modified," and "When preutterance is modified," are set to "other parameters are modified accordingly to keep relative positions." Stay in Mouse and Key Settings and click "Auto Focus Settings," and make sure it's set to preutterance.
Now, go to Options → Advanced Settings. While it's not necessary I strongly recommend changing the spectrum color to "Color1" and setting the target tone to the pitch you recorded at. Be sure to hit "Go" under target tone to zoom in on that pitch. See Figure 3.
We're almost done here. Go to Show → Time Zoom and set it to x10. This will allow you to be much more precise.
BEFORE YOU CLOSE SETPARAM, go to File → Save current configurations to initialization file and then just hit save (don't worry about saving over an older file if there is one).
And with that, we're all set!
